Biography
Nick Johnson was born in 1965 and grew up in the Vale of the White Horse in rural Oxfordshire. He completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting and printmaking at Winchester School of Art and Design in 1988. In 1994, Nick began a career teaching art and design. He has held teaching posts at schools in both Darlington, County Durham and in Glastonbury, Connecticut in the United States, where he lived from 1999 until 2004.
Based in Teesdale and an enthusiastic walker, Nick’s time spent in Teesdale, the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District has informed his work and given him the creative insight to beautifully portray these locations. Nick captures the essence of a place and instils his work with spirit and energy.
